I first started working with Catharine because I had spent over a year thinking I would write a regular blog and never quite getting around to it. On my to do list it had always become non-urgent. By setting aside time to meet with Catharine I ensured the blog was top of my list at least once a month. What I have discovered is Catharine is more than the writer of my blogs. As an artist and a journalist she is able to ask questions that allow me to articulate my thoughts and ensure what is produced by Catharine is well conceived and well thought out. Catharine’s understands the challenges we face as artists, she has a gentle but probing approach. More importantly she has the ability to get the essence of what I want to say and the skills to produce a piece of writing that completely reflects my own voice. Catharine is really lovely to work with. She is very professional in her approach and has an understanding of how difficult it is sometimes to put into words what an artist does. I needed some help in putting together a press release about my work to send to selected design and high end life style magazines. Catharine has helped me to clarify what I want to say and put it into a media friendly format. She’s great to talk to, asks good questions and is very encouraging. She has helped me to come up with ideas and stories about my work that would attract interest from the media and given me possible targets and outlines for looking ahead. I understand how important it is to be able to communicate about your creative work and art. Your website needs to state clearly what it is you do and any press releases/published work must be of a high standard. Whilst I know what I want to say about my work, putting it down on aper doesn’t always do it justice. Being able to ask Catharine to help me with written work has been so helpful. She manages to tweak and improve what I’ve written, but still ensures it sounds like me… but a much better/eloquent/grammatically correct me.
